Ned Roberts

​Ned is a London-based sound engineer specialising in recording and mixing. With over seven years’ experience working across professional studios and a degree in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) from the University of Surrey, he combines technical expertise with musical sensitivity and a calm, collaborative approach. 

 

He has a particular passion for recording live sessions and large ensembles and is known for creating a relaxed recording environment where artists and performers can feel at ease, ensuring both high-quality results and an enjoyable recording experience.

Since 2021, Ned has been Head Engineer at TYE London at Tileyard, alongside working at other studios across London. He has engineered sessions for artists including Beverley Knight, Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Christopher Nightingale. His location work includes recording the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, The Band of the Household Cavalry and Tenebrae at venues including BBC Maida Vale and King's Place. He started his career training at Monnow Valley Studio, working alongside producers and engineers including Andrew Scheps, Steven Street, Phill Brown and Matt Squire.

In addition to studio and location work, he has also recorded speech for audiobooks, podcasts and video games.
