Ned_Roberts

​Ned is a London-based Sound Engineer with a degree in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) from the University of Surrey. During his studies, he completed a placement at Monnow Valley Studio, training under Callum Marinho (Noel Gallagher) and gaining hands-on experience in a world-class recording environment with producers and engineers such as Andrew Scheps, Steven Street, Phill Brown and Matt Squire. Now, his diverse freelance career spans recording, mixing, location work and live sound.

He has been Chief Engineer at TYE London at Tileyard London since 2021, alongside working at a range of other studios across London, and has engineered sessions for artists such as​​ Beverley Knight, Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Chris Nightingale.​

His work on location includes recording the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, The Band of the Household Cavalry and Tenebrae at locations such as BBC Maida Vale, King's Place and The Warehouse.

 

Proficient across multiple genres, from pop and rock to jazz and classical, Ned has a particular passion for recording live sessions and large ensembles. He is known for creating a calm, musical environment that helps artists feel at ease - ensuring both high-quality results and an enjoyable recording experience.

His other work includes live sound at the Southbank Centre, Cadogan Hall and The Gallery (Tileyard London) as well as mixing FOH for Blitz Vega.​ He has also recorded speech for numerous podcasts and video games.​
